PURPOSE of this system:

• We encourage players to move up.
  
• If you are going to play a class below as a chip we encourage you to remain on ONE team.
• We encourage players to play within their division.
• We encourage teams to keep their teams as consistent as possible.
  
• Discourage teams that get bumped to breaking up and reforming every year
  

 

Each team is allowed 3 chips WHEN FORMING A ROSTER.


Each team can pickup maximum of 1 chip player per tournament ONLY if their team was formed with 0, 1, or 2 chips.


If you have 3 chips you can NOT pick up any CHIPs.


If you release ANY chips and drop “chip 1” so you can pick up “chip 2” then “chip 1” can NOT rejoin your roster but may join another team’s roster. 

EXCEPTION:  If “chip 1” gets replaced due to injury or deployment that chip can rejoin the original team 1 time a year.


ALL PLAYERS may only drop 1 classification AS A CHIP.


Chips can only play as a pickup once per season per team.

A College baseball player with no USSSA slowpitch history will be a D rated player

June 1st will be the cutoff date for a chip to add onto a team as a fulltime player.

If a chip adds onto a team fulltime he can not return to his original team. The only move he can make is back up and not with original team.
 
CURRENT ROSTERS SUPERSEDE YOUR CLASSIFICATION WHEN ON A HIGHER CLASSIFICATION TEAM ROSTER - NOT LOWER
Examples:

• If you are a Class D player and you are on a Class C Roster you would be considered a full chip for Class D.
  
• If you are NOT on the list and you are on a Class D roster you would be considered a full chip for Class E.

NCC PLAYERS are players that were on teams that were bumped by the National Classification Committee (NCC).  You are a full chip!  If you were bumped from E to D you are a full chip for E.  If you were bumped from D to C you are a full chip for D.  I have tried to work with teams and players on this because there is always some grey area on this subject.  Some players only play one or two tournaments with these teams last year and were bumped.  After an email was sent to the National Office the subject was brought up on this and we have decided to remain firm on the NCC bumps and you will only be able to have 3 on your roster or move up to the above class.

Players are eligible to drop a class if ALL play is below class a full year and an appeal is submitted at the end of the year.


Players will NOT be penalized for playing above class for a short period of time


JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE PLAYED ABOVE CLASS DOES NOT MAKE YOU THAT CLASS PLAYER


JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED IN A YEAR OR MORE DOES NOT DROP YOUR CLASS


If your team is not playing and you would like to play with a team of a higher classification you may without jeopardizing your team’s classification. 

 
We encourage all players and teams to play up and AR USSSA will not penalize a team or player for doing so.
